Hey there! I'm Dominic — creative technologist, UX researcher, and occasional interface inventor based in Düsseldorf, Germany.
I worked with research agencies and now help teams build better products. I found home in UX because it brings everything together: research, design, code, and human behavior.
What I do
Design Systems Architecture
I build and scale design systems for complex enterprise platforms—from biometric surveillance software (IDEMIA) to banking and insurance products (Crossnative, Atruvia). Whether initiating from scratch or supporting established teams, I help organizations unify their design practice through components, documentation, and governance.
User Research & Interface Design
I've conducted field research at trivago, usability testing across finance, healthcare, and travel domains, and designed specialized interfaces like chip configuration tools at Infineon. I believe great products start with understanding context—what people actually do, the tools they already use, and the workflows they've built.
Personal Information Management
My Master's thesis explored cognitive load in personal information retrieval. I designed LifeTimeLine, a hybrid interface concept combining timeline navigation with faceted filters. Early testing showed promise (SUS score 77.5), and the design patterns I synthesized continue to inform my work on privacy-first data tools.

I'm exploring privacy-first personal data infrastructure using Solid Pods—Tim Berners-Lee's framework for user-controlled data. My focus is on OS-level enhancements to data storage, retrieval, and handling that span communications, project management, finances, health records, and intelligent scheduling.
I'm also rediscovering the joy of building—rapid prototyping tools, AI-assisted coding, and modern frameworks let me tinker with games, apps, and tools I've always wanted to create.
